The Northeast Comprehensive Center Advisory Board (NCCAB) works with the NCC to provide feedback on:
- Allocating the Center’s resources across the Northeast based on the U.S. Department of Education guidelines for state technical assistance;
- Monitoring and addressing the educational needs of the state on an ongoing basis;
- Maintaining a high standard of quality in the performance of the Center’s activities; and
- Carrying out the Center’s duties in a manner that promotes progress toward improving student academic achievement.
The NCCAB membership reflects a balanced representation of educational stakeholders throughout the region. All members are approved by the Commissioners and Governors of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The Board is composed of the Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont State Commissioners of Education, or a designee, and representatives from parents, practicing educators, higher education, business, research, and state education department leaders from the offices of elementary, middle, secondary, and continuing education. The NCCAB meets annually.
